CAN DO Director of Economic Development, Jocelyn Sterenchock, to speak at the International Business Innovation Association e.Builders conference in October

Jocelyn Sterenchock, CAN DO’s Director of Economic Development, will speak at the 2023 Ecosystem Builders (e.Builders) Forum hosted by the International Business Innovation Association (InBIA). The event will be held from October 2-3 at TechVentures in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Sterenchock will be part of a panel discussing how entrepreneur support organizations, or ESOs, can deploy successful strategies for creating ecosystems in areas with low population density – where access to necessary resources can be difficult and attracting talent is a challenge. In addition, Sterenchock plans to share her experiences regarding how CAN DO, the CAN BE Innovation Center, and other members of THInC (The Hazleton Innovation Collaborative) have worked to help budding entrepreneurs grow throughout the Greater Hazleton Area.

In a session titled “Models for Rural Entrepreneurial Support,” Sterenchock will also be joined by Denny Hummer, the Assistant Director of Bucknell University’s Small Business Development Center, and Brian Slawin, the Regional Director and Portfolio Manager at Ben Franklin Technology Partners Central & Northern PA.

The e.Builders Forum is an annual gathering that brings together over 100 professionals from small-business-support organizations in order to delve deeply into the nuances of a specific region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Pennsylvania is spotlighted this year thanks to its unique and innovative approach toward incubation programs. The forum seeks to showcase the collaborative efforts of ecosystem partners across the state, thereby presenting Pennsylvania’s thought leadership and innovative approaches to entrepreneurship to a nationwide audience.

InBIA, a global non-profit entity, has been at the forefront of supporting entrepreneurial organizations for over 30 years. Their mission extends to assisting entrepreneurship centers, program managers, directors, and policymakers in developing sustainable entrepreneur support programs globally, encompassing every industry and demographic.
